Chef Minh Nguyễn is a talented chef from Vietnam, currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City. His journey into the culinary world is not just a story of passion but also one of continuous learning and the relentless pursuit of excellence in the industry.
He discovered his love for cooking at the age of 15, when he decided to start working to support his family. Beginning with the most basic tasks in the kitchen—as a kitchen assistant in various eateries, restaurants, and hotels in Ho Chi Minh City—he continuously honed his skills and quickly advanced in his career. In a short time, he became a Sous Chef at a prestigious restaurant in District 1. Although he had already achieved impressive milestones such as:
- Silver Medal at the Vietnam Young Talented Chef Competition 2015
- Bronze Medal at the Vietnam Talented Chef Competition 2015
A PIVOTAL TURNING POINT – VENTURING BEYOND VIETNAM
At the age of 20, driven by an ambition to learn from the world’s best culinary traditions, he decided to leave Vietnam for Europe. Throughout this journey, he worked in various countries, including Denmark, Germany, and Poland. In Aarhus, Denmark, a city regarded as a culinary hub of Europe, he made a significant mark by becoming the Head Chef of a mid-range restaurant. Within just six months, the restaurant rose to become the 2nd best Asian restaurant in the city, maintaining this ranking for two consecutive years. However, as his vision and that of the restaurant’s investors diverged, he decided to step down from his role as Head Chef to continue his quest for knowledge. He then moved to Germany, where he worked at high-end restaurants and had the opportunity to collaborate with Michelin-starred chefs.
RETURNING TO VIETNAM & MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
After years of dedication in Europe, in 2019, Chef Minh Nguyễn decided to return to Vietnam. With his extensive experience, he continued to achieve remarkable success:
- Gold Medal (Beef Dish Category) at the Vietnam Talented Chef Competition 2022
- Top 4 Finalist in the Top Chef Vietnam 2023 TV competition Yet, his journey didn’t stop there—he continued expanding his career both in Vietnam and internationally.
BUILDING A GLOBAL BRAND & CONTRIBUTING TO THE F&B INDUSTRY
With a strategic vision and a strong desire to contribute to the growth of the culinary industry, he founded Le-Ng Consulting—a company specializing in setting up restaurants across Hungary and Europe.
